When it was time to complete the conversion i simply removed the 4 aa battery packs and connected the line from the string of led lights that needed power on the wreath to the output from the power pack.
Convert battery lights to ac power.
But if an electrical device doesn t need to be portable all the time it would be nice to be able to power it with ac and not waste the batteries.
I use an old cell phone charger and an ac power plug from the reindeer.
Wrap electrical tape around any exposed wire.
You can wire your existing light directly to the inverter.
It is possible that the voltage of your switching module is too low to activate the leds string properly.
Inverter the purpose of the inverter is to convert 12 volt dc power to 120 volt ac.
Connect the wires labeled with a minus sign to each other as well.
Two cr2032 batteries should show a nomimal voltage of 6v or thereabouts.
A 180w device would be drawing 20 amps out of a 9v battery.
Connect the wire in the lamp labeled with a plus sign to the battery wire labeled with a plus sign by twisting the two wires together.
180w is a lot of power.
We use battery power to drive a lot of our electronics.
I then completed the same step with the wire.
I then forgot about the project until the material arrived.
All you need to do is to determine the voltage v and current mah of the device.
So in this project i show you how to modify an old ac power adapter so that it can power your electronics instead of batteries.
An ac power adapter converts 110 volts to a low direct current dc voltage.
There is no way the terminals could withstand that much power.
Again that would cook your batteries.
Setting up the system.
A 600 watt inverter should provide more than enough power for your light without quickly draining the battery.
If you are tired of replacing batteries in your portable radio or in any other battery powered device using an ac power adapter is a good alternative.
In this video i convert a battery powered led string of lights to run on 120 volts ac.
Use a wire cutter to strip about a half inch of rubber off of the tips of the battery s two wires.
