The main purpose of this coil is to release all the heat to the atmosphere that comes from your room. The condenser coil which is important for cooling the air is located in the outdoor unit of your central air system. While the evaporator coil picks up heat from indoor air the condenser coil releases heat into outdoor air. From there the heated refrigerant inside this coil travels out to your outdoor unit.

A condenser coil is a network of a tube that is fitted to the outdoor ac unit. The condenser coil is of similar design to the indoor evaporator coil. As refrigerant travels to your outdoor unit it fills the many condenser coils increasing its surface area so that heat escapes faster. Here it passes through a compressor which condenses the refrigerant into a hot gas.

However the difference between a c evaporator and condenser coil is exactly reversed. A fan blows air over this coil absorbing the heat from the refrigerant and cooling it. Inside this coil there is a hot gas vapour which is known as the refrigerant. This pressurized gas is then fed through the condenser coil.

A damaged coil is one of the most severe problems an ac condenser can have. Because this is such an integral part of the overall component a damaged coil instantly compromises the entire ac unit. When something goes wrong it helps to know the part that may be causing the issue.
